Stand Alone Mode

Stand Alone Mode occurs when a terminal is unable to connect to either the server or backup server. Users can configure the software to automatically enter Stand Alone Mode when a connection is unavailable. The Front End Database Recovery Mode can be set globally in Settings 4 and per terminal in General Info 1.

Users can shorten the period of time that the system waits to attempt to return to Online Mode before entering Stand Alone Mode by adding the DBTestConnectionTimeout registry key. The default without registry entry is 240 seconds (4 minutes). See Adding the DBTestConnectionTimeout Registry Key (Stand Alone Mode) for more information on adding the DBTestConnectionTimeout registry key.
