The General Information 1 tab deals with the terminal specific functions of FPOS.
Add Terminal
Allows the user to add a terminal to the system.
Remove Terminal
Allows the user to remove a terminal from the system. Select a terminal from the Terminals list box and then click the Remove Terminal button.
Copy Terminal
Performs a bit for bit copy of all settings of the terminal being copied. Select a terminal from the Terminals list box and then click the Remove Terminal button.
Set Mobile Default
This sets the Mobile terminal selected in the Terminals list box as the default mobile terminal.
Enable Quick Sign On
Enabling the Quick Sign On feature allows currently clocked in employees
to select their name from a list to quickly sign into the Front End. The employee’s name will be automatically removed from
the list after X min if they have not signed on (where X is the number of minutes entered in the Remove from list after X Minutes option).
Quick Sign On Needs Password
The employee will need to input their Front End password after selecting their name from the Quick Sign On list, when using the Quick Sign On feature.
Display Employee's First Name Only
The employee's first name only will be shown in the Quick Sign On list when the Quick Sign on feature is enabled.
Skip Order Printers
A specific terminal can be set to skip an order printer so that an order sent
from that terminal does not go to the specified order printer(s). For example, a bartender who enters drinks does not need those drinks sent to the bar order printer so the bar terminal would be told to skip the bar order printer.
Auto Sign Off After
The Auto Sign Off After function is used to automatically sign off employees
who are signed into the Front End, but have not used the terminal in the time specified.
Listbox Item Height
This is the height of the line items (in pixels) that are shown on
the receipt control at the Front End, as well as most of the other
list boxes that will be displayed. Enter a value between 8 and 40 pixels. This option is set to 24 pixels by default.
Handheld Font Size
Controls the font size of the text in multi-column modifier list boxes for handheld devices (800X480 screen size only). Font size is set to 16 point by default. Maximum font size is 36 point.
Forgive Taxes
You can select which taxes to forgive for each individual terminal.
Table Input Type
The Table Input Type options sets the table select on the Front End to either use an alphanumeric
keypad or the graphical store layout to enter a table number .You can also set the Text to Display on Second Line of Tablewhen using the graphical store layout here.
Show Titlebar on POS Window
This option sets whether or not the titlebar shows at the top of the screen.
Terminal Does Not Get Updates
Terminals with this option enabled do not receive transfer updates and therefore do not have the latest information.
Print Order After Check is Fully Tendered
This allows the Front End to be used in a kiosk environment so the
order doesn't get sent until payment has been received.
Allows User to Change Receipt Printer
Allows the user to select the printer that the receipt will be printed to using the Specify Receipt Printer button on the Front End. This option is designed for use on handheld devices but can be used on terminals. See Specify Receipt Printer for more information on specifying printers from the Front End.
Use Status Screen for Print Errors
Enabling this option will suppress printer error message dialogs on the Front End and will be displayed only when pressing the button function. When enabled, the button will flash to alert the user that a printer error has occurred. The user will need to dismiss the error by tapping the Show Status Messages button and viewing the printer errors from the Front End.
Allow Non End-to-End Encryption Manual Entry
Enabling this option will allow the user to enter a credit card number manually via the Front End when using end-to-end encrypted devices. When enabled, PCI responsibility is transferred to the retailer/business.
Computer Name
The computer name must be entered here exactly as the computer has been named in Windows. If you are unsure of your terminal’s name, right click on My Computer and select Properties. Select the Network Identification tab to display the computer's name. In Windows 7, right click Computer, select Properties, and the computer name is listed under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings.
Share Name
This is the name of the hard drive that is shared on the network. This should be the same drive that the FPOS software has been installed on. The most common value for this field is C.
Computer Description
This field allows a computer description to be entered for easily identifying the terminal in the FPOS software. An example of this would be Patio Unit or Host Station.
