The Settings 4 tab contains general settings for FPOS, including order types, serving periods, user data descriptions, Enterprise settings, and preset tender amounts.
These are the descriptions for the different types of orders that can describe a sale. Click the Configure button to the right of the Order Type to configure the Order Type settings.
Taxes to Forgive
Allows the user to select taxes that will not be charged when this order type is assigned to a sale on the Front End. See Sales Tax Maintenance for more information on configuring taxes.
Logic Controls VDU Options
VDU Color
Allows the user to adjust the color of Order Type text in the header of the Logic Controls VDU screen.
Orders Cannot be Bumped until Settled
Will prevent the user from bumping orders until the check has been fully tendered on the Front End.
Exclude all Customer Address Information on Orders
When enabled, prevents the following customer pseudo variables from printing on receipts for this order type: #CUSTOMERSTADDR1, #CUSTOMERSTADDR2, #CUSTOMERCITY, #CUSTOMERSTATE, and #CUSTOMERZIP.
Order Type Applies a Delivery Zone Charge
Allows the user to assign a Zone Charge to this order type. Select a Zone Charge from the Zone Charge to Apply drop down. See Zone Charges Maintenance for more information on configuring zone charges.Do Not Override Existing Customer Zone
Prevents the Zone Charge selected in the drop down from overriding the delivery zone associated with the customer assigned to the sale.
Authorization/Credit Slip Routing
Auth Slip Printer
Allows the user to specify the printer that the Auth Slip will be printed to. Select a printer from the Auth Slip Printer drop down.
Require Driver Before Tender
Forces the user to select a delivery driver when settling a sale of this order type on the Front End.
Serving
Periods
Sales periods that allow the user to view sales for a specific time period. Users can enter a Description for the Serving Period such as Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. If a Description has been entered, it will be displayed in the Sales by Range and Sales by Serving Period Reports. If no Description has been configured, reports will display the time period entered in the Start Time and End Time fields.
Employee
This is the label for the User Data field in Employee Maintenance. Any text entered here will rename the User Data field with the text you have entered.
Customer
This is the label for the User Data field in Customer Maintenance. Any text entered here will rename the User Data field with the text you have entered.
This option enables the Enterprise client for FPOS. If this option is enabled, you'll need to configure the Enterprise options, listed below.
Store Number
This is the alphanumeric store name exactly as it is configured on the Enterprise server and in Settings 1 of the local server.
Host IP Address
The IP address of the Enterprise server.
Use Corporate Customer Database
Enabling this option will keep the store synced with the customer database at the Enterprise server, and with all other stores that use the corporate customer database.
Use Corporate Gift Certificate Issued Database
Enabling this option allows Enterprise terminals to retrieve gift certificate information from the Enterprise server. This allows customers to redeem a gift certificate sold at one store, at a different, Enterprise enabled location. Communication with the Enterprise server is required in order to access gift certificate information.
API Key
Enter the API Key provided from either Online Ordering to set up your site or from Enterprise to establish communication between your store and Enterprise Server.
Perform
Maintenance Restart of the Front End at the Day Divide
When enabled, FPOS Front End will reboot at the Day Divide setup in Settings 1.
Front End Database Recovery Mode
In the event that communication to the server is lost, users will need to select a Recovery Mode option.
Try Online Mode Again
Attempts to connect to the server again.
Try Offline Mode
Attempts to connect to the backup server.
Use Standalone Mode
Forces the machine to connect to the local copy of the database.
Let The User Choose
Displays a dialog on the Front End, allowing the user to select their Recovery Mode option.
Preset
Tender Amounts
Allows users to configure how the Settle Check dialog on the Front End. Typically these settings are set to five,
ten, twenty, and next highest dollar, but can be configured in any
order.
