Discount Maintenance

1. Open the Back Office.
2. Click the Maintenances icon.
3. Click Discount Maintenance.
   

Discount Description
Allows the user to enter a name for their discount. This is the description that will appear in the Discounts list box when the user selects the Discount Item button on the Front End.

 

Discount Type

Percent Off Each Item
Allows the user to take a specified percentage off of each item.

 

Dollars Off Each Item
Allows the user to take a dollar amount off of each item in the sale.

 

Dollars Off Entire Check
Allows the user to subtract a dollar amount from the entire check.

 

User Can Edit Discount Amount
This option allows the user to specify the discount amount when applying the discount on the Front End.

 

Discount Subtracts from Taxable Total
This option designates that discounts are to be applied after the taxes have been added to the total. Discounts will be applied prior to tax being added to the total when this box remains unchecked.

 

Discount can only be Applied Exclusively
The selected discount can not be applied in conjunction with any other discount.

 

Discount has own section on Sales Report
The discount will have its own section on Today's Sales Report, Yesterday's Sales Report, and the Sales By Range Register Report. The Discount section will display the number of times the discount was used and the total dollar amount discounted. A separate section will appear on the report for each discount that has this option enabled.

 

Discount Reason
The reason for the discount.  This is used for grouping discount amounts in the Discounts Report.

 

Discount Image
This is the image that is printed on the receipt when a discount is issued to fulfill a frequent diner reward (see Frequent Diner Maintenance for more information). In addition to plain text, the print image can also contain Receipt Pseudo Variables.

 

Max Discount
The maximum dollar discount that can be applied to a sale.

 

Security Level
The security level feature places user level security on the discounts so that only users with the security level entered or higher can apply discounts.

 

Discount Availability
Discount availability designates the day(s), time(s), start date, and end date when the discount will be available.

• Configure discount eligibility in Item Maintenance.
• Enable discounts for the items you wish to discount in Item Maintenance.
• Configure a Discount Item button in order to apply discounts on the Front End.
