Configuring the Enterprise and Store Servers

After installing the security certificate on each Store Server, configure an Enterprise Employee for use in the Enterprise Back Office. A default employee has been created in the Fusion Enterprise database. Sign on as the default employee using the steps shown below, then configure the Enterprise Employee's access.

1. Open Back Office from the Enterprise Server.
2. When the Back Office Sign On prompt opens:
   
   • Enter 1 for the Employee ID.
   • Enter 1 for the Password.
3. Click OK.
   
4. When the Back Office opens, click the Enterprise Employee option. The License Activation dialog will appear.
5. Click Yes to activate the Enterprise License, then license the Enterprise Back Office. See How to License Future Fusion 5.0 for more information on licensing.
   
6. The Enterprise Employee dialog will appear after competing the licensing process. When the dialog opens, select 0001 from the Emp. ID drop down.
7. Click the Security button.
   
8. In the Edit Security Profile window, configure the Enterprise Employee's access privileges, then click the OK button.
   
9. In the Enterprise Employee Maintenance window, select File > Save.
10. Close and re-open the Back Office to view the changes made in Enterprise Employee Maintenance.

1. From the Enterprise Server, open Back Office.
2. Click the Settings icon.
3. Click Enterprise Settings.
4. Set the Internet IP Address to the local IP Address of the Enterprise Server.
5. Choose a System Country.
6. (Optional) If using Enterprise to retrieve and store customer numbers check the Use Central Customer Database check box.
7. (Optional) If using Enterprise to retrieve and store gift card information check the Use Central Gift Certificates Issued Database check box.
   
   • If the options in Step 6 and 7 are active, select the Global or Region option. The Global option will share data among all stores in the Enterprise environment. The Region option will only share information with the stores included in the Regions specified when setting up the Store and Enterprise servers.

   • When gift cards are Global or Regional and sold, the data is only stored in the Enterprise database. Gift cards sold prior to having Enterprise enabled need imported into the Enterprise server.

8. Enter an API Key. API Keys are case-sensitive and should be 4 to 10 digits in length. The API key will be entered when configuring Stores to communicate with the Enterprise Server.
9. (Optional) Configure the Email Server Settings and Email User Settings:

   Email Server Settings

   1. In the Outgoing Server field, enter the address for the outgoing e-mail server.
   2. In the Port field, select the port for the outgoing e-mail server.
   3. Check the box next to the Server Uses SSL, if needed.

   Email User Settings

   The information entered here will act as the "From" address for any e-mails sent.

   1. Enter an e-mail address in the Username field.
   2. Enter the e-mail password for the email account entered in Step 1 in the Password field.

   Sending a Test Email

   1. In the Test Email To field, enter an e-mail address. This is the email account that the test email will be sent to.
   2. Click the Test Email Server Settings button to send a test e-mail.
   3. Verify that the email was received by the email account entered in Step 1. If the email was not received, verify the settings entered in the Email Server Settings fields.

10. Click File > Save.
    

1. From the Store Server, open the Back Office.
2. Click the Settings icon.
3. Click System Settings.
4. Click the Settings tab > Settings 4 tab.
5. Check the System is Enterprise Enabled check box to activate the Enterprise options.
6. Enter a store name in the Store Name field. 
7. Set the Host IP Address to the address of the Enterprise Server.
   • If the initial setup is done locally, use the local IP Address of the Enterprise Server. If the Enterprise Server is in a remote location, use the public IP Address of that location.
8. (Optional) If using Enterprise to retrieve and store customer numbers check Use Corporate Customer Database.
9. (Optional) If using Enterprise to retrievet and store gift card information check Use Corporate Gift Certificates Issued Database.
   
   • If Use Corporate Customer Database and/or Use Corporate Gift Certificate Issued Database were checked when configuring Enterprise Settings, they must also be checked in System Settings.
10. Enter the API Key that was created when configuring the Enterprise Server. This allows the Enterprise and Store servers to communicate securely.
11. Click File > Save.

Prior to version 5.0.94.14, users will need to add the IgnoreItemCounts key to the registry to the Quantity Available field in Item Maintenance from syncing with other stores in the Enterprise environment. In versions 5.0.94.14 and higher, the key will be created and enabled by default when the Front End is initially opened after installation. Users will need to manually disable the key if they do not want it enabled. To create the registry key, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Future P.O.S.\EnterpriseClient and add the IgnoreItemsCounts DWORD with a value of 1.
