Configuring the ePad-ink Signature Pad

The ePad-ink Signature Capture Pad can be used in place of an authorization slip in order to capture the customer’s signature for various transactions, including credit card sales. For more information on signature capture pads, visit the ePadLink website, http://www.epadlink.com/.

ClosedHardware Requirements
  • FPOS terminal with an available USB port
  • ePad-ink signature capture device by ePadLink
ClosedHow to Configure the ePad-ink Back Office Settings
  1. Connect the ePad-ink device to the computer via USB port.
  2. Insert the ePad-ink installation disc and install the device driver(s).
  3. Open the Back Office.
  4. In Media Maintenance, configure media(s). Enable the Media Prompts for Customer Signature option to allow the Front End to prompt for a signature when settling sales with the specified media types. This setting will need to be configured for each media type that the user wishes to prompt for signature.
  5. In Button Maintenance, configure a signature pad calibration button. See Calibrate Signature Capture Pad for more information.
  6. In System Devices, select a signature capture option. See Signature Pad for more information.
ClosedHow to Calibrate the Signature Pad

The ePad-ink must be calibrated before use via the ePadInk configuration utility. Users can configure the Display, Backlight, and Screen Saver options, as well as view device Info for the ePadInk from the ePadInk Configuration utility. Consult the device's instruction manual for more details on configuring the ePadInk.

  1. On the Front End, click the Calibrate Signature Pad button. The ePadInk Configuration dialog will appear.
  2. Click the Calibration tab.
  3. Click the Start button to begin calibrating. Follow the on screen prompts to calibrate the ePadInk.
