Specify Receipt Printer

Allows the user to select the printer that the receipt will be printed to using the Specify Receipt Printer button on the Front End. This option is designed for use on handheld devices but can be used on terminals. In order to use the Specify Receipt Printer button, users must first enable Allows User to Change Receipt Printer in General Info 1.

  1. In Button Maintenance, select Specify Receipt Printer from the Function drop-down.
  2. Click Edit Function Data.
  3. Configure the Specify Receipt Printer settings and then click OK.
    • Allow User to Select the Printer allows the user to select a printer from a list box when the Specify Receipt Printer button is selected on the Front End. The printer that is selected will be used for any subsequent print commands, until a new printer has been selected using the Specify Receipt Printer button.
    • Use Preset Printer toggles printing to the preset printer selected in the Printer drop down. The printer that is selected will be used for any subsequent print commands, until a new printer has been selected using the Specify Receipt Printer button.
  4. Select the Menu and set the Button Position. If desired, set the Min Security Level, Width, Height, Button Appearance and Ask for Supervisor ID. See General Button Maintenance Functions for an overview about the general fields.
  5. Click the Edit Image button to modify the button attributes.
  6. Click File > Save As.
  7. Type a name for the button in the field labeled Button Name.
  8. Click OK.

  1. Open the Front End and Sign On.
  2. Tap the Specify Receipt Printer button.
  3. If the Use Preset Printer option was selected when configuring the button function, the printer will toggle to the preset printer automatically. If the Allow User to Select the Printer option was selected when configuring the button function, the Select Receipt Printer dialog box will appear, as shown below. Select a printer from the list box and tap OK.
