Adding a Tip Pool

1. Open the Back Office.
2. Click the Maintenances icon.
3. Click Tip Pooling.
4. In the Tip Pooling Configuration dialog, verify that the Contributions tab is selected, then click the Add button. This will add a New Pool to the Tip Pools list box.
5. Click the New Pool to begin configuring the pool's settings.
   
6. Enter a Name for the Tip Pool. If you will be using multiple tip pools, be sure to give the tip pool a unique and descriptive name.
7. Set the Time in Effect by entering a time using the keyboard or by clicking the Time Picker button. The tip pool will only take contributions/distributions during the Time in Effect entered regardless of employee punch times.
8. Check the box next to each contributor (by job code) that will be included in the pool.
9. For each Contributor selected, configure the contributor's contribution settings. Click the contributor name in the Contributors list to display their contribution settings.
   • Check the Contributes to this pool option to enable contributions for the selected job code.
   • Configure the contribution settings By Sales or By Major Department Group:
     • A percentage of Gross Sales. Gross sales is defined as the total dollar amount of sales, not including tax, coupons, or discounts.
     • A percentage of Net Sales. Net sales is defined as Gross Sales minus discounts, coupons, and VAT taxes.
     • A percentage of Credit Card Tips.
     • A percentage of the All Tips Received (not including any tips received as part of tip pool distribution).
     • A percentage of one or more major groups (major groups can be configured in Department Maintenance). If multiple major groups are selected, each major group can have a different percentage configured.
10. Click Close to save your changes. The tip pool name will be updated in the Tip Pools list box. See How to Set Up Tip Pool Distributions below for information on how to setup distributions by job code.

2. Click the Maintenances icon.
3. Click Tip Pooling.
4. In the Tip Pooling Configuration dialog, select a tip pool from the Tip Pools list box.
5. Click the Distributions tab.
6. Check the box next to each distributor (by job code) that will receive a share of the pool.
7. For each Distributor selected, configure the distributor's distribution settings. Click the distributor name in the Distributors list to display their distribution settings.
   • Distribute evenly across all selected job codes will divide the contributions evenly among all job codes. For example, if two job codes are selected, each will receive 50% of the tip pool.
   • Distribute by hours worked across all selected job codes will distribute tips based on the number of hours worked by employees within the selected job codes. For example, an employee who works 8 hours within the Time in Effect will receive a larger share of the tip pool than an employee who only works 3 hours.
   • Distribute based on job code allows the user to set the distribution amount per job code selected, and requires the user to enter a distribution amount by percentage of pool, even distribution or hourly.
8. Click Close to save your changes.
