Displays

Users can select from two Digital Signage Display types, Menuboards and Ad Displays. Additionally, users can run a Scoreboard concurrently with either a Menuboard or Ad Display on up to four Displays per terminal.

Users can add a Menuboard, Ad Display, or Scoreboard from the Displays tab. Displays can also be configured to run on a scheduled basis.

  1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displays tab.
  2. Click New Display. The Edit Display Item window will appear.
  3. Enter a Name for the Display. The Display Name is used to identify the Display in the Terminal's Displays list.
  4. Assign a Display Number. The Display Number is used to identify a Display on the screen. Changing the Display Number assigns the Display to another screen.
    Note: Only four Displays can be enabled per terminal but users can create unlimited Displays. Digital Signage will use the first four active Displays in the Terminal's Displays list if more than four Displays are enabled.
  5. Select Ad Display or Live Menuboard from the Display Function section. Both Ad Displays and Live Menuboards can be displayed with a Scoreboard.

    • An Ad Display features images, movies,and web sites as a slideshow for a set duration of time. Ad Displays require a playlist be configured. Users will need to select a playlist from the Default Playlist drop down. See Playlists for more information on configuring Playlists.

    • A Live Menuboard is a static menu based Display which displays item information directly from Future Fusion. Users will need to select a Menuboard from the Default Menuboard drop down.
  6. Check the Display Enabled check box to activate the Display. Display Enabled must be activated in order to view the Display.
  7. (Optional) Check the Run Scoreboard check box to display a Scoreboard in addition to an Ad Display or Live Menuboard. Scoreboards display sale information in real-time as the sale is rung up. If the Run Scoreboard option is enabled, select a Default Scoreboard from the drop down.
    Note: Scoreboards will appear on a Display over a Menuboard or Ad Display as items are ordered on the Front End. Once a check is settled, the Menuboard or Ad Display will reappear.
  8. (Optional) Configure a Display Schedule. Display schedules allow the user to rotate a variety of Digital Signage Displays based on a user defined schedule. See Scheduling Displays for more information on creating Display Schedules.
  9. Click the Save button.

Users can configure default Menuboards, Ad Displays, and Scoreboards from the Displays tab, as well as create display schedules for active content.

  1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, select the Displays tab.
  2. In the Display list, click the pencil icon next to the playlist you want to edit.
  3. Change the Display details, as desired.
  4. Click the Save button.
ClosedHow to Delete a Display

Users can delete a Display from the Terminal's Displays list. Once a Display is deleted, it is permanently removed from the FPOS database and cannot be retrieved.

  1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, select the Displays tab.
  2. Click the Display to delete. Blue highlighting indicates the selected row.
  3. Click Remove Selected Display to permanently delete the Display.
  4. The Delete Display dialog will appear. Click the Yes button to remove the Display.
ClosedHow to Schedule a Display

Users can create schedules for Digital Signage Displays, allowing Displays to rotate automatically without manually disabling or enabling them from the Back Office.

  1. In the Display Schedule section of the Edit Display Item window, select a Schedule Type from the drop down. Select from Menuboards or Playlists.
  2. Click the Add New Schedule button.
  3. Select a Menuboard/Ad Display from the Schedule Item Selection drop down.
  4. Enter a Start Date and End Date.
  5. Select Schedule Time by Range or Schedule Time By Days in Range.
    • The Schedule Time By Range option allows the user to set a specific date and time for the Display to be active. Enter a Start Time and End Time.
    • The Schedule Time By Days In Range option allows the user to schedule Displays for specific days of the week. Check day(s) to schedule and set the Start Time and End Time.
  6. Check the Scheduled Enabled check box to activate the Display schedule. If Schedule Enabled is not checked, the schedule is inactive and the Display will not run on the assigned schedule.
  7. If desired, set the Conflict Priority. The Conflict Priority determines which Display will be run if more than one Display is scheduled for the same time. The lower the Conflict Priority value, the higher the Display's priority. For example, a Conflict Priority of "1" means that Display will always have first priority over an other scheduled Displays.
  8. Click the Save button.
