Displayboards

There are two types of Displayboards, Menuboards and Scoreboards.

• Menuboards display content uploaded to Digital Signage Maintenance via the Back Office. Menuboard. Content can include .jpg, and .png images, web URLs, shockwave files, and a variety of other file types.
• Scoreboards display sales information including items sold, price, and sale total, as the sale is rung up on the Front End.

With the addition of the Digital Signage Editor, users can create Scoreboards and Menuboards via the Editor or Create Custom HTML Templates. Once a Displayboard has been saved, it will be added to the Displayboards list and can then be added to Displays from the Displays tab.

Users can add create Menuboards using the Digital Signage Editor. See Digital Signage Components for more information on configuring Menuboards.

1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displayboards tab.
2. Click Add New Displayboard. The Displayboard Edit window will appear.
3. Click the Edit Template Content button to open the Digital Signage Editor in the default web browser. From the Digital Signage Editor, users can configure Menuboards.
4. After configuring Menuboard settings in the Digital Signage Editor, save the Menuboard template. The new Menuboard will be added to the Displayboards list in Digital Signage Maintenance. Then close the Digital Signage Editor browser window.
5. In the Displayboard Edit window, click the Cancel button.

Users can add create Scoreboard templates using the Digital Signage Editor. See Digital Signage Components for more information on configuring Scoreboards.

1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displayboards tab.
2. Click Add New Displayboard. The Displayboard Edit window will appear.
3. Click the Edit Template Content button to open the Digital Signage Editor in the default web browser. From the Digital Signage Editor, users can configure Scoreboards.
4. After configuring Scoreboard settings in the Digital Signage Editor, save the Scoreboard template. The new Scoreboard will be added to the Displayboards list in Digital Signage Maintenance. Then close the Digital Signage Editor browser window.
5. In the Displayboard Edit window, click the Cancel button.

Custom HTML Menuboards require the user to select a template in the Displayboard Edit window. Sample templates are available in the Dealer Portal.

1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displayboards tab.
2. Click Add New Displayboard. The Displayboard Edit window will appear.
3. Enter a Displayboard Name. The Displayboard Name is used to identify the Displayboard.
4. The Board Enabled check box is checked by default. The Board Enabled option activates the Displayboard to enable the user to select the Displayboard when setting up a display. If the Board Enabled check box is unchecked, the Displayboard will not appear as an option when configuring Displays.
5. Select the Menuboard option under Displayboard Type.
6. Click the Select Template Folder button to add a Menuboard template. Sample HTML templates are available in the Dealer Portal.
7. When the Browse For Folder window appears, navigate to a template folder and then click OK. The menuboard.html file must be in the template directory.
8. Configure the Dynamic Content Assignment settings:
   • Select Content from the Content to Load drop down.
   • Set the Embed Width and Embed Height of each content item. These settings define the display height and width of the selected content item.

Note: Dynamic Content Assignment settings allow the user to place content inside the template. The Dynamic Content Assignment section pertains to tags in the custom HTML template. Tags will need to be defined within the HTML template.

9. Click Save.
   

Custom HTML Scoreboards can be configured using a template or by using the Scoreboard Display Styler. Sample templates are available in the Dealer Portal.

1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displayboards tab.
2. Click Add New Displayboard. The Displayboard Edit window will appear.
3. Enter a Displayboard Name. The Displayboard Name is used to identify the Displayboard.
4. Board Enabled is checked by default The Board Enabled option activates the Displayboard to enable the user to select the Displayboard when setting up a display. If the Board Enabledcheck box is unchecked, the Displayboard will not appear as a Display option.
5. Select the Scoreboard option under Displayboard Type.
6. Check the Use Custom Scoreboard Template check box to use a custom Scoreboard template or click the Set Scoreboard Display Styles button to access the Scoreboard Display Styler.
   • If the Use Custom Scoreboard Template check box is enabled:
     • Click the Select Template Folderbutton to add a Scoreboard template.
     • When the Browse For Folder window appears, navigate to a template folder and then click OK. Note that the menuboard.html file must be in the template directory.
7. Click the Edit Template Content button to open the Digital Signage Editor in the default web browser. Only templates that were originally created with the Digital Signage Editor can be edited using the Editor.
8. Configure the Dynamic Content Assignment settings:
   
   • Select Content from the Content to Load drop down.
   • Set the Embed Width and Embed Height of each content item. These settings define the display height and width of the selected content item. Dynamic Content Assignment settings allow the user to place content inside the template. The Dynamic Content Assignment section pertains to tags in the custom HTML template. Tags will need to be defined within the HTML template.
9. Click Save.
   

The Scoreboard Display Styler defines the display styling options for the selected scoreboard.

1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displayboards tab.
2. Click Add New Displayboard. The Displayboard Edit window will appear.
3. Click the Set Scoreboard Display Styles button. The Scoreboard Display Styler window will open.
4. Configure Scoreboard display styles:
   • Configure the Scoreboard's General Settings:
     • Check the Draw Modifiers check box to display modifiers on the Scoreboard.
     • Total Line Size: Total Line height, in points. Use the arrows to increase or decrease the line size.
     • Total Line Text: The text displayed on the Total line. For example, "Sale Total."
     • Total Line Color: Total Line text color. Select a color from the color picker.
     • Header Line Size: Header Line height, in points. Use the arrows to increase or decrease the line size.
     • Header Left Text: The text displayed on the left Header line. For example, "Item Name."
       
     • Header Right Text: The text displayed on the right Header line. For example, "Item Price."
     • Header Line Color: Header Line text color. Select a color from the color picker.
   • Configure the Scoreboard's Table Settings:
     • Background Color: The cell Background Color. Select a color from the color picker.
     • Border Size: The cell's border width. Enter a numerical value, in pixels.
     • Top Padding: The cell's padding from the top margin. Enter a numerical value, in pixels.
   • Configure the Scoreboard's Body Settings:
     • Background Color: The content Background color. Select a color from the color picker.
     • Width Percentage: The width of the content within the table. Measured as a percentage of the content pane.
     • Height Percentage: The width of the content within the table. Measured as a percentage of the content pane.
     • Font Size: The size of the text contained within the content pane.
     • Font Family: The font of the text contained within the content pane.
     • Font Color: The color of the text contained within the content pane.
     • Font Weight: The font style of the text within the content pane. Click the check box to enable or disable Bold font style option.
   • Configure the Scoreboard's Even Line Settings:
     • Background Color: The even display items' background line color.
     • Font Color: The even display items' font color.
   • Configure the Scoreboard's Odd Line Settings:
     • Background Color: The odd display items' background line color.
     • Font Color: The odd display items' font color.
       

Deleting a Displayboard will permanently remove the Displayboard from Displayboards list. Once a Displayboard is deleted, it can not be assigned to displays.

1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Displayboards tab.
2. Highlight the Displayboard to delete.
3. Click Remove Selected Displayboard.
4. When the Delete Template dialog appears, click the Yes button to delete the Displayboard..
   

Adding the MinimizeScoreBoard registry key to the registry will display the scoreboard as transparent. When an order is rung in, the scoreboard will be triggered and displayed.

1. Open the Registry Editor.
2. Navigate to the Future P.O.S. Registry:
   • x86: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Future P.O.S.\AdDriver
   • x64: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Future P.O.S.\AdDriver
3. Right click in the preview pane and hover over the New option.
4. Select the DWORD option from the submenu.
   
5. Name the value MinimizeScoreBoard.
6. Configure the string data for the registry value by right-clicking the value name and selecting Modify.
7. Enter Value data. A data entry of 1, will display the scoreboard as transparent until an order is rung in.
