Adding a TV Display to Menuboards

With version 5.0.92.0, FPOS now allows users to add a TV display to digital signage menuboard(s). FPOS currently supports the WinTV-HVR-1250 internal HDTV card. For more information on the WinTV-HVR-1250, visit http://www.hauppauge.com/.

ClosedHow to Create the TVProcess Registry Keys
  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to the Future P.O.S. Registry:
    • x86: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Future P.O.S.\ADDRIVER
    • x64: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Future P.O.S.\ADDRIVER
  3. Right click in the preview pane and scroll over the New option.
  4. Select the String Value option from the submenu.
    Add New String Value to Registry Editor
  5. Name the value TVProcess.
  6. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5, creating two more values, TVProcessName and TVProcessCommandLine.
  7. Configure String data for each registry value. Right click the value you would like to configure then select Modify.
  8. Enter Value data.
    • TVProcess: The path/location of WinTV7. For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe
    • TVProcessName: The name of the process. For example, VLC.exe.
    • TVProcessCommandLine: Allows the user to pass in command line parameters. For example, dvd:///d:/

  1. Navigate to menuboard.html.
  2. Right click the file and select Edit.
  3. Configure the TV tag.

    4. [TV: X, Y, Width, Height, Special]

    • X: The horizontal x coordinate the TV will be displayed at.
    • Y: The vertical y coordinate the TV will be displayed at.
    • Width: The width of the TV display.
    • Height: The height of the TV display.
    • Special: Special instructions that override the values listed above. Values are based on Digital Signage display height and width.
    • Center: The TV display will be shown in the center of the screen given.
    • TopHalf: The TV displays will fill the top half of the display.
    • BottomHalf: The TV display will fill the bottom half of the display.
    • RightHalf: The TV display will fill the right half of the display.
    • LeftHalf: The TV display will fill the left half of the display.

  • Edit an existing display by selecting the menuboard.html file or Create a New menuboard using the menuboard.html file.
  • Restart Ad Driver to allow your new display settings to be loaded.
