Content

Users can import .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .mp4, .png., and .swf files, as well as web urls. Imported content can be added to playlists and displayboards. The same content can be used several times in multiple playlists. A playlist will rotate content items in a timed duration.

  1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, click the Content tab.
  2. Click the Add Content icon.
  3. Enter a Name for the content.
  4. Select the Content Type:
    • Image or Movie Image, flash or movie files. Select from .jpg, .gif, .png, .mp4, .or swf.
      • Select the Content Source button. In the Open window, select a content file and then click the Save button.
    • Website Address A website URL. For example, www.Google.com.
      • Select the Set Web Address button. Enter the URL and click Save.
  5. Select the Content Enabled check box to enable the content for use in a playlist. If Content Enabled is not selected, the content will not be available when assigning content to playlists.
  6. Click Save.
ClosedHow to Delete Content

Users can delete content at any time using the Delete Selected Content button. Once content is deleted, it no longer appears in the content list, cannot be assigned to any playlists, and is removed from any existing playlists.

  1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, select the Content tab.
  2. Click the content to be deleted. When selected, the content will be highlighted in blue, as shown below.
  3. Click the Delete Selected Content icon. The Delete Content confirmation dialog will appear.
  4. Click Yes to delete the content.
ClosedHow to Import a Content Folder

To import new content from a folder, click Browse under Import Content from Folder. Locate the folder, click OK and then click Start Import. All the acceptable types of content (for the list, see Step 3 in Add Content) in the folder is imported into your playlist and appears in the Assigned Content section.

  1. In Digital Signage Maintenance, select the Content tab.
  2. Click the Folder Import icon.
  3. When the Import From Folder window opens, click the Browse button to browse for content.
  4. In the Browse For Folder window, select a folder to import and then click the OK button.
  5. Click the Start Import button to begin importing content.
  6. The Import Confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to import content to the database. The content will now appear in the content list.

The Add Playlist icon allows the user to access the Playlist editor. For more information See Digital Signage Playlists for more information on configuring a playlist.

ClosedHow to Edit Content

Users can edit content by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the content thumb image, as shown below. The Edit Content Item window will appear. From the Edit Content Item window, users can configure the content's settings.

ClosedHow to Allowing Large Content Files

Users can configure the maximum file size allowed in Digital Signage Maintenance from the Bin folder.

  1. Navigate to the FPOS bin folder. (FPOS5\Bin)
  2. Right click the AdDriverMnt.exe.config file and open the file with Notepad.
  3. Edit the MaxFileSize value, as desired. The MaxFileSize value must be entered in bytes.

Content files are restricted to 5MB or smaller, however, users can edit the AdDriverMnt.exe.config file to allow for larger file sizes. See Allowing Large Content Files.
