Open Ingredients

The Open Ingredients button allows the user to access Ingredient Maintenance from Item Maintenance. Ingredient Maintenance will also allow the user to set default Ingredient settings. These settings will then populate the Ingredient Maintenance fields when accessed from Item Maintenance.

The Open Ingredient function and Ingredient Maintenance are intended for one to one ratio items. For example, Bottled Beers. An item, Bee-Btl/Bud is configured in Item Maintenance and an Ingredient is added to this item that equals one unit. Users can then configure the Ingredient based on the packaging of the bottled beer, ie. 1 unit per package, and 24 packages per case (of beer). This allows the user to track the number of bottled beers sold and view inventory based on sales.

  1. Open the Back Office.
  2. Click the Maintenance icon.
  3. Click Item Maintenance.
  4. When the Item Maintenance window opens, select an item from the Item Name drop down.
  5. Click the Open Ingredients button. Ingredient Maintenance will open.
  6. In the Ingredient Maintenance window, configure the Ingredient's settings.
  7. After configuring the Ingredient's settings, click File > Save.
  8. After saving the Ingredient, click the Close button to return to Item Maintenance. The Save Default Values confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to save the Ingredient's settings.

  9. In the Item Maintenance window, click File > Save to save any changes.
