Start Shift

The Start Shift button is designed to work in conjunction with shift tracking. When shift tracking is enabled, the Start Shift button will open a new shift. See the System Requirements and Prerequisites section below for more information on configuring additional shift start options.

  • The Enable Shift Tracking option must be enabled in Cash Reconciliation.
  • (Optional) To force the user to enter a starting balance when a shift is opened, enable the Enter Starting Balance option in Cash Reconciliation.
  • (Optional) To force the user to enter shift counts by denomination when a shift is opened, enable the Enable Shift Counts option in Cash Reconciliation.

  1. In Button Maintenance, select Start Shift from the Function drop-down.
  2. Select the Menu and set the Button Position. If desired, set the Min Security Level, Width, Height, Button Appearance and Ask for Supervisor ID. See General Button Maintenance Functions for an overview about the general fields.
  3. Click the Edit Image button to modify the button attributes.
  4. Click File > Save As.
  5. Type a name for the button in the field labeled Button Name.
  6. Click OK.
