Adding Modifiers to Items

Users can add modifiers directly to an item when the item has few modifiers or the modifiers are used only for that specific item. In this example,four modifiers will be added to the DES-CAKE/CHEESE (Cheesecake) item. Users can also create modifier groups and assign the modifier groups to multiple screens to accommodate larger numbers of item modifiers.

  1. Open the Back Office.
  2. Click the Maintenance icon.
  3. Click Item Maintenance.
  4. Select DES-CAKE/CHEESE from the Item Name drop down
  5. Click the Edit Modifiers button.
  6. When the Edit Modifiers window opens, enter a Modifier Description. The Modifier Description will be displayed in the titlebar of the modifier dialog on the Front End.
  7. Click the Add Modifier button to select modifiers to add.
  8. Select modifiers from the Item(s) list.
  9. After selecting modifiers, click the OK button.
  10. (Optional) To force the user to choose a minimum number of modifiers, check the User must select a minimum check box and enter a minimum modifier value.
  11. (Optional) To limit the number of choices a user may select, check the User can select a maximum check box and enter a maximum modifier value.
  12. (Optional) Check the Bypass "OK" when max modifiers selected check box to dismiss the modifier selection window if the maximum number of modifiers has been selected. If this option is not enabled, users will be required to select the OK button on the Front End after selecting item modifiers.
  13. After configuring modifier options, click the OK button.
  14. In the Item Maintenance window, click File > Save to save your changes.
