Users can create batch files to perform an automatic backup of their database. The sample batch files shown below create backups of the database specified in DB Setup. These specific backups will keep up to seven backups at one time and will overwrite, beginning with the oldest backup, as needed. Users can also configure Windows Scheduler to run the batch file automatically.
DEL C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion7.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion6.bak Fusion7.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion5.bak Fusion6.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion4.bak Fusion5.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion3.bak Fusion4.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion2.bak Fusion3.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion1.bak Fusion2.bak
REN C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion.bak Fusion1.bak
C:\FPOS5\BIN\DBSETUP.exe /BACKUP C:\FPOS5\DATA\Fusion.bak
In order to create a batch file on a remote PC, you'll need to share the C:\ drive and grant the necessary users access to the share drive.

You can run the backup script manually by running the .bat file. You can also add the batch file to Windows Scheduler and configure it to run once a day (preferably, while the store is closed).
