Configuring Windows OS Future Fusion

Future Fusion v5.0.94.0 and higher automatically configure many settings required for the FPOS software to run on the Windows 8 operating system. A local administrative account must be created before installing FPOS. Users can then configure Windows settings manually, if desired.

Users must complete this step before installing FPOS.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click the User Accounts and Family Safety option.
  3. Click the User Accounts option.
  4. Click the Manage another account option.
  5. Click the Add a new user in PC settings link.
  6. Click the Add a User option.
  7. Click the Sign in without a Microsoft account option.
  8. Click the Local Account button.
  9. Enter the new User name and Password.
  10. Enter the password in the Reenter password field.
  11. Enter a Password hint.
  12. Click the Finish button.
  13. After creating the user, re-open the Control Panel and click User Accounts and Family Safety.
  14. Click the User Accounts option.
  15. Click the account you created in step nine.
  16. Click the Change the account type link.
  17. Click the Administrator radio button.
  18. Click the Change Account Type button.
ClosedHow to Disable Windows SmartScreen (Optional)

This step is completed as part of the Future Fusion installer, however, users can perform this step manually, prior to starting the installer, if desired.

  1. Click the Action Center icon in the System Tray. The Action Center pop-up will appear.
  2. Click the Open Action Center link.
  3. In the Action Center window, click the Change Windows SmartScreen settings link to the left of the screen.
  4. When the Windows SmartScreen window opens, select the Don't do anything (turn off Windows SmartScreen) radio button.
  5. Click the OK button.

This step is completed as part of the Future Fusion installer, however, users can perform this step manually, prior to starting the installer, if desired.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click the Programs and Features option.
  3. When the Programs and Features window opens, click the Turn Windows features on or off link to the left of the screen.
  4. Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) option.
  5. Click the OK button.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click the Administrative Tools option.
  3. When the Administrative Tools window opens, click the Local Security Policy option.
  4. When the Local Security Policy Window opens, double-click the User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode option to disable.
  5. Click the Disabled radio button.
  6. Click the OK button. A restart of the computer is required for this change to take effect.
