Enterprise Sync: Bulk Uploader and Bulk Downloader

The Enterprise Bulk Uploader and Downloader allow users to sync data from larger uploads which would otherwise cause the Enterprise Sync utility to run slowly or to fail.

  1. From the Store Server, open the Back Office.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Click the Enterprise Bulk Uploader.
  4. When the Enterprise Bulk Uploader dialog opens, click the Start button.
  5. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Yes to begin uploading. Note that starting the Bulk Uploader will disable updates from being processed. Future POS, Inc. suggests running the Bulk Uploader and Bulk Downloader during non-business hours.
    Notice: Starting the Bulk Uploader will disable updates from this store to Enterprise. Do you wish to start the Bulk Uploader?

  6. Once the Uploader begins, a backup will be created, zipped, and uploaded to the FTP site (see figures below).

  7. When the Bulk Uploader has completed, "Done" will be displayed to the left side of the Enterprise Bulk Uploader dialog.

Users can adjust the registry settings for the Enterprise Bulk Downloader to fit their data needs.

  1. From the Enterprise Server, select Start > Run > Regedit.exe
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Future P.O.S.\EnterpriseBulkDownloader.
    • DatabaseCheckSeconds – Defines how often the download utility will check the FTP site for a new file. (Default = 60)
    • DeleteChunkSize – Defines how many records the utility will delete at one time. (Default = 5000)
    • SyncChunkSize – Defines how many records the utility will import at one time. (Default = 2500)
ClosedHow to Download Data Using the Enterprise Bulk Downloader

After creating a backup using the Bulk Uploader, use the Bulk Downloader to download the backup to the Enterprise Server.

  1. From the Enterprise Server machine, open C:\FPOS5\Bin\EnterpriseBulkDownloader.exe. The Bulk Downloader will open in the System Tray. Click the icon to view the Bulk Downloader.
  2. Click Check Now to check for uploaded data. The Bulk Downloader will download and unzip the data, restore and sync the database, and then delete the uploaded file (as shown below).

  3. The Done deleting file message will be displayed when the process has completed.
