Processing with Priority Payments Direct

Merchants can utilize the direct interface to the Priority Payments Direct integrated payment processor. Dealers will need to configure Priority Payments Direct processing for their merchant using the Dealer Portal.

ClosedHow to Configure Priority Payments Direct Payment Processing in the Back Office
  1. Open the Back Office.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Select System Settings. The Credit/Debit/Gift tab will be displayed by default.
  4. Click the Credit Card tab.
  5. In the Credit Card tab, click the Authorize Using Credit Module radio button to enable processing with Credit Module.
  6. Select Priority Payments Direct from the Credit Card Processor drop down.
  7. The Use Pre-Auth/Pre-Auth Capture Authorization Method is selected by default. This option requires the user to enter a charge tip on each check before batching out.
  8. Click the Set Merchant Information button to access the merchant configuration dialog.
  9. In the Priority Payment Direct Configuration window, click the Get Merchant Info button to allow FPOS to populate the credit card processor information previously entered in the Dealer Portal.
  10. Once the processor information fields have been populated, click the OK button.
  11. In the System Settings window, click File > Save to save and apply credit card settings.

  1. In the Credit Card tab, click the Credit Card Support Info button. Any text entered will be displayed within the Support Info window of the active credit card module.
  2. The Don't Print an Auth Slip if the Auth Amount is Less Than option allows the user to specify when authorization slips will be printed. Any amount less than the dollar amount entered will not print an authorization slip at the time of the sale.
  3. Check the Don't Prompt for Approval Code When Auth is Declined check box to prevent the module from prompting for an approval code. The user will be required to perform the card swipe again.
  4. Check the Display Customer on Pre-Auth check box to display the customer's name on the pre-authorization approval notification.

  5. Check the Enable Partial Authorizations option to settle a portion of a sale using the balance of a Visa or MasterCard gift card. The user will also be prompted to enter the remaining portion of the sale with an alternative media. If this option is unchecked, cards pre-authorized, but not containing the full amount of the sale, will be declined. This option is only available for selected processors including Cayan, EMS, Global, Jet Pay, Paymentech, Sterling, and Tsys.

  6. In the System Settings window, click File > Save to save and apply the credit card settings.

Users can add the timeout registry keys to the registry when using Priority Payments Direct as the credit card processor.

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to the Future P.O.S. Registry:
    • x86: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Future P.O.S.\Credit Card Module
    • x64: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Future P.O.S.\Credit Card Module

  3. Add the following values by right-clicking the Credit Card Module registry key, clicking New > DWORD (32-bit Value):
    • EnablePriorityTimeout - This registry key will enable the ability to change the timeout settings. Entering a Data value of 1 allows the user to set the timeout value (in seconds). A Data value of 0 prevents the user from setting timeout values, and will set a default value of 100.
      • PriorityTimeout - This registry key sets the timeout length (in seconds). A Value data entry of 5 is recommended by Priority Payments Direct; however, values between 1 and 180 (seconds) are valid.
    • EnablePriorityTimeoutRetry - This registry key will enable "retry" and allow the up to three retry attempts. Entering a Data value of 1 allows the user to enable "retry" which will continue to attempt to process the sale up to three times. A Data value of 0 prevents "retry" on processing failure.
    • PriorityTimeoutBatchClose - This registry key sets the batch timeout length (in seconds). Users can enter a minimum Value data entry of 60 (seconds) and a maximum of 180 (seconds).
  4. Double-click a registry key to edit the Value data in the Edit DWORD Value dialog and then click the OK button.
