VDU’s are run from a single point of sale terminal off of a designated serial communications port. The serial port of the POS terminal then connects to a Master VDU controller, which allows daisy chaining of multiple VDU Slave controllers for each VDU unit needed. The Future POS VDU software must be running on the POS terminal that is meant to drive the VDU system. This file can be found in the FPOS BIN folder as VDUDVR.EXE. System Settings configures the POS to recognize which terminal is connected to the VDU system as well as how the VDU system behaves. Options here include flashing orders, beeping orders, employee name displays, and VDU on the fly or whole order at once. Once the VDU has been configured System Devices will need to reflect each VDU as an Order Printer.
