Canadian Debit

• DSI client must be installed and running on all terminals that you want to use Canadian debit on.
• The Canadian Debit PIN Pad must be programmed by your processor before it will work with FPOS.
  

Configuring Canadian Debit requires an FPOS terminal with an available serial port, a debit card PIN Pad, and high-speed Internet access. If processing with Mercury, use the Verifone SC5000, available from Mercury Payment Systems. Also, install the most recent DSI Client X from Datacap on the Future POS server and any terminal that will connect to a PIN Pad.

1. Open the Back Office.
2. Click Settings.
3. Select System Settings.
4. Click the Settings tab.
5. Click the Canadian Debit tab.
6. Select a PIN Pad Type. If you are using the Verifone SC5000 from Mercury, select Mercury 1.
7. Type in the IP Address of your server in the Server IP/Host Name field. If your processor has more than one address, you may be instructed by your processor to enter both addresses into the Server IP/Host Name box. This will cause Canadian Debit to NOT work in FPOS. Please be sure to only type in the first Server IP/Host Name address you are given.
8. Select the appropriate port number under Server Port #.
9. Click File > Save.
   

1. Open the Back Office.
2. Click Settings.
3. Select System Devices.
4. Click the Terminals tab.
5. Select a terminal from the Terminals list.
6. Check the Terminal is Canadian Debit Enabled to enable the terminal for Canadian Debit processing.
7. Enter the Merchant ID associated with the PIN Pad. For the Verifone SC5000 from Mercury payment systems, the Merchant ID begins with the number 70 followed by the last six digits of the unit’s serial number. (70nnnnnn).
8. Select the Comm Port the PIN Pad will be connected to.
9. Check the Prompt for Tip option to allow the pin pad to prompt for a tip when processing a Canadian Debit card.
10. Check the Override Duplicate Transactions check box to allow duplicate card transactions to be deleted.
    

1. Open the Back Office.
2. Click Maintenances.
3. Click Media Maintenance.
4. Select an empty media slot from the Media drop down.
5. Enter a Receipt Description. We used "Debit" for this example.
6. Enable the Media is a Canadian Debit Card option.
7. Click File > Save.
   

Internet Credit Card Authorization Module (Internet CCAM) must be running on the FPOS server. Internet CCAM can be added to the startup group when installing FPOS at the server.
